4 Natural Ways To Improve Focus & Concentration

In this video, I want to share with you 4 natural things you can do to give you better focus and concentration in your life.

Ever “listen” to a conversation and a minute or so passes and you realize you didn’t actually hear anything that person just said?

I know I have. I was “officially” diagnosed with ADHD about 6 years ago. But, I more than likely have had ADHD for a lot longer than that.

There can be many different factors at play with focus & concentration, but I want to focus on the 4 that have had the biggest impact on myself, as well as some of my clients.

1.Tyrosine and Phenylalanine (wth are these?)

These are amino acids that we get from food. These specific amino acids play directly into dopamine production. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that plays a big role in motivation, memory, and focus.

Tyrosine is the main amino in dopamine, but phenyl can be converted to tyrosine in the body if the body needs it.

2.Vitamin B6

This is an important vitamin that also plays a role in the creation of dopamine. A lack of B6 can have a direct influence on the amount of dopamine produced. This would in turn impact motivation, memory, and focus.

B6 can be commonly deficient as the more stress you’re under, the more B6 in your body gets used up.

How to get more B6: dairy, fish, eggs, liver, meat, bananas, carrots and, of course, supplementation. The typical daily dosing would be around 5-10mg and upwards of 20mg.

3.Alpha GPC

Once we get dopamine to a good place, the need for acetylcholine kicks in. Alpha GPC is about 10x more effective than any other choline at raising acetylcholine. Of course, you want to make sure you’re getting a decent amount of choline in your diet first. Main sources – liver and egg yolk. Secondary are cruciferous veggies and nuts.

Supplementing Alpha GPC – You can go up to 300mg at a time. This can be taken a few times per day if needed. I only use 300mg once per day and cycle off on weekends.

4.Sunlight directly into the eyes

Yup, sunlight! Not just any sunlight, but sunlight into the eyes. Make sure when you’re outside that you aren’t always wearing sunglasses. Direct light is necessary for the creation of dopamine.
