It’s the little things

It seems that when we’re working towards a health / fitness goal that we too easily get locked onto the scale or on how our clothes fit or on how we look in the mirror.
—
While there is nothing wrong with having an aestethic goal to work towards, we have to remember that we’re probably changing our nutrition and our workout routine for more than just the way we look. Maybe it’s about more energy, better sleep, being able to keep up with your kids, etc.

That being said, I had one of my FAVORITE client testimonials given to me this last week. My client called me up and she said “There is something I have to tell you.”
—
She said that she was at an event and that for the first time in 15 years….she danced. Let that sink in. For 15 years she was unable to be on the dance floor and just move her body in the way that SHE wanted to move it. And now…she can! She was so excited to be out there enjoying herself.

That was huge for her! So, try to not get so locked in on the scale that you overlook everything else that is happening to you because of your changes in your lifestyle. When you take this approach you’ll be way less likely to give up just because the scale doesn’t move at the pace you may want it to move.
