Stop punishing yourselves!

Stop punishing yourselves!

I see this quite often, unfortunately. People will make the mistake of eating something they think they shouldn’t and in turn they feel like they need to go exercise like crazy to make up for the “mistake” that they made.

Exercise is not now nor was ever meant to be a punishment when trying to create a lifestyle.

I’m sure most of you have heard the phrase that you cannot out exercise a bad diet. And it still as true today as the first time you probably ever heard it.

When you start punishing yourself through exercise for the foods that you eat that’s when you start a downward spiral of negative self talk and start potentially leading into over training as well.

So, next time you make a mistake just accept it, learn from it and move on. None of us are perfect and we never will be. Mistakes will be made. Just make sure that you learn from them instead of punishing yourself for them.
